Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how JewelryDiary (“JewelryDiary,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with your use of jewelrydiary.site (the “Site”). It applies to visitors, readers, and anyone who interacts with the Site, such as by leaving a comment on an article.

Information We Collect

JewelryDiary does not require you to create an account to read articles, and we don’t currently offer account registration for readers. Most of the information we come into contact with falls into a few categories:

Information you provide directly. If you leave a comment on one of our articles, our comment form collects the name and email address you enter and, optionally, a website URL if you choose to add one. Your IP address and browser user agent string are recorded along with your comment, mainly to help identify spam.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, JewelryDiary automatically receives certain technical information whenever you visit — for example your IP address, browser type, device type, and the pages you view. This is described in more detail under “Log Files” and “Cookies” below.

If you contact us directly, for example through our Contact Us page, we use whatever information you choose to share with us only to respond to your message.

Log Files

Like many websites, JewelryDiary’s hosting infrastructure automatically collects and stores log file information. This typically includes your IP address, browser type, internet service provider, date and time stamp, and referring or exit pages. This information is not linked to anything that personally identifies you, and it’s used to understand traffic patterns, administer the Site, and help keep it secure.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. JewelryDiary uses a limited number of cookies to support normal site functionality. Comments are currently closed on the Site, so it does not ask visitors to save a name, email address, or website in a cookie for commenting.

If someone logs into the Site as an administrator, additional cookies are used to manage that login session; these relate to site administration and not to regular visitors.

As described below, cookies may also be set by third-party advertising and font services used on the Site.

The Site also shows a short notice about cookies and Google AdSense. If you dismiss it, a small note saying so is saved in your browser’s local storage so the notice is not shown again. This note stays on your device and is not used to identify you.

Google AdSense and Advertising Cookies

JewelryDiary uses, or plans to use, Google AdSense to display advertising on the Site as a way to help support the free content we publish. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this Site based on your prior visits to JewelryDiary and/or other websites on the internet.

Google’s use of advertising cookies allows it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and other sites. These cookies generally do not contain information that directly identifies you by name; they typically rely on browser or device identifiers.

Third-Party Vendors and Personalized Advertising

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to JewelryDiary or other websites. This is sometimes called “interest-based” or “personalized” advertising, and it’s meant to make the ads you see more relevant based on general browsing activity, rather than random.

Other advertising partners we work with, now or in the future, may also use their own cookies or similar technologies to collect information about your visits to this and other websites, in order to provide advertising about goods and services that may interest you.

How to Manage or Opt Out of Personalized Advertising

You have a few ways to control or limit personalized advertising:

  • Visit Google’s Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com to see and adjust the information Google uses to personalize ads, or to opt out of personalized advertising from Google.
  • Visit www.aboutads.info/choices (or, if you’re in the EU, youronlinechoices.eu) to opt out of personalized advertising from other participating companies.
  • Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their own settings. Doing so may affect how some parts of the Site display, but it won’t prevent you from reading our content.

Other Third-Party Services

JewelryDiary loads fonts from Google Fonts so that text displays consistently across browsers and devices. Loading these fonts may cause your browser to send a request, including your IP address, to Google’s servers.

If you leave a comment, an anonymized, one-way hash of the email address you provide may be shared with the Gravatar service (operated by Automattic) to check whether that address has an associated profile picture, and to display it next to your comment if so. Automattic’s privacy policy is available at automattic.com/privacy.

At this time, JewelryDiary does not use third-party analytics services such as Google Analytics. If that changes, we will update this policy.

Data Retention and Security

If you leave a comment, that comment and its associated metadata are generally retained so that follow-up comments from you can be recognized automatically rather than held for manual approval indefinitely. We take reasonable steps — including relying on our hosting provider’s security practices and serving the Site over HTTPS — to help protect information from unauthorized access. That said, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable data protection laws, such as the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to request a copy of it, to request that it be corrected or deleted, or to object to certain uses of it. If you’d like to make such a request, for example about a comment you left on the Site, please contact us using the details below and we’ll respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Children’s Privacy

JewelryDiary is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the tools we use or in applicable law. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check back periodically.
